Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles Remaster Introduces Full Voice Acting and Modern Enhancements
Square Enix has officially announced the remaster of its classic tactical RPG, Final Fantasy Tactics, titled "Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles." Scheduled for release on September 30, 2025, the remastered edition will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms.
This enhanced version introduces fully voiced dialogue in both English and Japanese, bringing new depth to the game's intricate narrative. The voice cast includes Joe Pitts as Ramza Beoulve, Gregg Lowe as Delita Heiral, Hannah Melbourn as Agrias Oaks, Timothy Watson as Cidolfus Orlandeau, Harry McEntire as Mustadio Bunansa, and Ben Starr as Dycedarg Beoulve. Notably, Cody Christian and Briana White reprise their roles as Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough, respectively, in special cameo appearances.
Beyond voice acting, the remaster features updated visuals, an optimized user interface, and various quality-of-life improvements. Players can choose between the enhanced version with modern upgrades or a classic mode that preserves the original gameplay experience, including the updated translation from the 2007 PSP release, "Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions."
The development team includes original creators such as director Kazutoyo Maehiro, art director Hiroshi Minagawa, and writer Yasumi Matsuno, ensuring that the remaster stays true to the game's roots while incorporating contemporary enhancements.
Pre-orders for "Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles" are now open, with special bonuses available for early purchasers.
