A Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Featuring GameCube Buttons Has Been Released

A new controller for the Nintendo Switch, called the NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-pad, has been released that aims to solve the issue of stick drift, a common problem with the Joy-Cons. The controller, which is inspired by the Nintendo GameCube and is officially licensed by Nintendo, is compatible with Switch consoles and can be used to play games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It features a joystick that utilizes Hall Effect technology, which is said to prevent drift and wear, as well as lighter triggers with "less resistance and shorter trigger distances" for quicker reaction shots in shooter games. The controller also has interchangeable joystick rings, an adjustable turbo and mapping function, and a one-key wake-up and screenshot function. It is available in purple for $69.99.

The NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-pad is a new controller for the Nintendo Switch that aims to address the issue of stick drift, a common problem that affects many controllers, including the Joy-Cons. Stick drift has been a significant problem for Nintendo, and the company has faced lawsuits as a result. However, the NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-pad claims to have a joystick that will never experience drift, a claim that has yet to be proven.

"The components in a Hall Effect joystick never physically touch, the sensors do not wear out like they do on analog joysticks. This means that in theory, Hall Effect joysticks never develop drift in their lifetime," reads an official blurb about the controller.

According to the product page, the triggers on the NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-pad are lighter and have less resistance and shorter trigger distances, allowing for quicker reaction shots while playing shooter games. The controller also includes interchangeable joystick rings, an adjustable turbo and mapping function, a one-key wake-up and screenshot function, and a wireless connection with long-lasting performance. It has an ergonomic, non-slip design and is the preferred gamepad for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. All of these features are described on the controller's product page.

Currently, the NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-pad is only available in purple. It is hoped that more colors, such as the coveted orange version, will be added in the future, but there is no information on when or if this will happen. The availability of additional colors may depend on the success of the initial release.
