OSBot Is the Titanic of RuneScape Botting Clients (and Maldesto Is the Iceberg)

A totally real photo of Maldesto right before he goes on a ban rampage.

I’ve been botting Old School RuneScape for years, and I don’t mean dabbling. I made over a million dollars automating pixels over a decade. I’ve used every botting client worth mentioning—DreamBot, TRiBot, and RuneLite forks.

For a long time, OSBot was my go-to, but oh boy, was that a mistake.

Maldesto: The Poster Child for Admin Tantrums

Let’s talk about the man, the myth, the walking embarrassment: Maldesto.

Yes, the same Maldesto banned from Sythe for scamming. The guy runs OSBot like it’s his personal playground, complete with arbitrary bans and frequent meltdowns. I’d almost feel bad for him if his behavior didn’t make the platform a flaming pile of garbage.

A few months ago, he banned every single Script Factory scripter on a whim, including me. Why? Because we dared to sell our own scripts, cutting into his imaginary profits.

The bans were reversed after the Script Factory developer talked some sense into him. This was a big flashing neon sign that said: “This platform is run by someone who thinks professionalism is a swear word.”

OSBot’s Community Is Dead (Shocking, I Know)

These days, OSBot feels like an abandoned theme park. Sure, the rides are still there, but the only people left are the rats.

  • The ban rates? Sky-high.

  • The community? Mostly new botters and three scripters.

  • The developers? What developers?

Most botters I know have ditched OSBot faster than you can say "DreamBot is better." The main reasons? Maldesto’s admin antics, a rapidly decaying platform, and the fact that OSBot is clearly trying to milk users before it goes belly up sayonara.

Oh, and let’s not forget that their parent company, Meire & Brito, was registered in the Netherlands, hasn’t been active since 2020, while most of the workers (and I’m betting the owner) are from the US. But hey, I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

Banned for Existing

I run a Discord where botters and regular people hang out to talk shop. Some of them used OSBot, but more and more of them started airing their frustrations with the platform. Nothing extreme—just your standard “OSBot is circling the drain.”

And then, one by one, they started getting banned.

First, one of my admins who had spent hundreds of dollars on OSBot, and had not even used the platform in ages, got the axe for “sharing malicious content.” What malicious content, you ask? Good question. According to their ToS, malicious content is shit like viruses and the like. I guess he had to justify it somehow.

A couple of days later I got banned. After this, 5 or so people got banned, mostly those who had dared mention that the platform wasn’t doing well. Talk about narcissism.

It’s almost like Maldesto saw our criticisms and thought, “You know what this platform needs? Less money and more bad rep from one of the highest ranking websites in OSRS Botting (This one).”

PayPal: My New Best Friend

I don’t care about the money I spent on OSBot. I spent what? A day’s worth of my cashflow? What I care about is making sure PayPal realizes they’re enabling a platform that scams its users.

I’m working on chargebacks for old purchases and encouraging others to do the same. The goal? To make it clear to PayPal that OSBot is a liability. If enough people file disputes, especially those who got scammed, maybe PayPal will cut ties with them entirely.

If you have ever been scammed by OSBot, don’t wait. Start your chargebacks and provide them with the evidence. Join my discord and I’ll even guide you in what to say and how to do it.

Want My Advice? Don’t Touch OSBot

If you’re thinking of using OSBot, just don’t. DreamBot and TRiBot are light-years ahead.

DreamBot, in particular, has a better community, active developers, and zero Maldestos in sight.

OSBot, on the other hand, is a sinking ship captained by a man-child who thinks banning users is a business strategy, and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to hand the reins over to someone sensitive. It’s all about making up for his small weiner, after all.

So unless you enjoy throwing money into a black hole and watching a platform implode, stay far, far away.
